Welcome to Steppers! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Steppers mobile application ("App") operated by Steppers ("we", "us", or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using Steppers, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Steppers. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the App.
To access certain features, you must create an account using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. You agree to:
Steppers grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
Steppers accesses your step count and active minutes data through Apple HealthKit. This data is used solely to provide App functionality, including tracking your progress, enabling competition with friends, generating STEPPED weekly reports, and powering the active minutes goal tracker. We do not sell your health data to third parties.
You may post content such as profile photos, bios, comments, pinned achievement badges, and shared STEPPED weekly reports ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it within the App. You are responsible for ensuring your User Content does not violate any laws or third-party rights. Content that violates our community standards may be removed and your account may be suspended.
Profile features including pinned badges, level/XP progress, and head-to-head comparisons display data derived from your in-app activity. You can control what non-friends see on your profile through the Privacy settings.
Rings are group walking communities within Steppers. By creating or joining a Ring, you agree to:
Ring creators are responsible for moderating their Ring's content and members. We reserve the right to remove Rings that violate these Terms.
The App includes "Motivators" — AI-simulated walking companions with generated step data. Motivators are not real users and are provided solely for motivational purposes. Their step counts are algorithmically generated and do not represent real activity.
Battles are step competitions between two users. By participating in a battle, you agree that your step count will be shared with your opponent in real-time for the duration of the battle. Battle results are final once the timer ends. We reserve the right to invalidate battle results if we detect manipulation or cheating.
STEPPED is a shareable weekly activity summary. When you share a STEPPED report outside the App, you are sharing a snapshot of your weekly stats. You are responsible for where and how you share this content. Shared reports do not include any private health data beyond the statistics displayed on the card.
Steppers offers an optional "Steppers+" subscription with premium features including advanced analytics. All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Purchases are non-refundable except as required by law.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure. Steppers is not a medical device and should not be used for medical purposes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
